In front of 50.000 spectators present at the Gamma Racing Days in Assen, the twins managed to obtain the perfect weekend. Despite the single free practice turn where they had to find the proper setup for their Wolf GB08 togheter with team Baskoeten Racing, during qualifying they gained 1st position in CN class, and a consistent 3rd overall.
Because of the lack of time during free practice, the car’s development continued also during race 1 and race 2 to prepare for the next event in Holland the next October. In both races the twins showed a consistently quicker pace with respect to the other CN cars that give a good feeling for the next 24h of Zolder. Again in this season they scored full points as they finished first in race 1 (60′ + 1 lap) and race 2 (45′ + 1 lap).
Nicola: “I have found Assen a very interesting circuit. Everytime I drive on a circuit that was meant to be for bikes, I found myself challenged by late braking into the corner and long fast corners. Those circuits impose you to drive differently with respect to common ones and for me are very important to understand if I can adapt to different situations easily.”
Stefano: “Despite being the first time for us in Assen things have worked out pretty well, but we will continue to work on the setup and ourselves too, as we see strong chances of improving our laptimes. It is important to us to be always competitive, and we will keep trying to beat our stronger opponents.”
